What it does

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

Two tracking modes

Simple mode for quick tap-to-count, or Advanced mode that tracks every pitch type — balls, called strikes, swinging strikes, fouls, and balls in play — with automatic ball-strike counts and out tracking.

Live pitcher stats

See strikeouts, walks, and balls in play in real time. Advanced mode gives you a full pitch type breakdown with percentages — right from the game screen.

Catcher innings

Automatically tracks innings behind the plate and flags when a catcher approaches limits. Pitcher-catcher eligibility conflicts are highlighted immediately.

Physical button support

Map volume buttons to Called Strike and Ball in Advanced mode — like an umpire's tracking dial. Also supports undo, next batter, outs, and more.

League configurations

Create named configurations with custom pitch limits, rest thresholds, and catcher rules. Switch between league settings when starting a new game.

Game summaries

Generate and email a formatted game summary with pitcher data, pitch type breakdowns, umpire notes, and final scores — ready to send to your league administrator.

Game history

Every game is saved automatically. Review past pitcher counts, rest requirements, and scores at a glance. Swipe to delete old games.

Fully offline

No account, no internet required. All data stays on your device. Works in the dugout even without a signal.

Track pitches like an umpire.

Map your phone's volume buttons to record Called Strikes and Balls in Advanced mode — no screen tapping required. Keep your eyes on the field, just like an umpire clicking a tracking dial.

Volume Up → Called Strike
Records a called strike pitch — the batter watched it go by
Volume Down → Ball
Records a ball — outside the zone, adding to the count

Fully customizable — you can also map buttons to simple pitch count, next batter, undo, or record outs.

How it works

Up and running before first pitch.

1
Configure your league

Set pitch limits, rest thresholds, and catcher inning rules once — save them as a named configuration to reuse every game.

2
Start a game

Choose Simple or Advanced mode, enter team names, field, date, and your opening pitcher and catcher for each team. Takes under a minute.

3
Tap to track

In Simple mode, tap + Pitch. In Advanced mode, tap the pitch type — balls, strikes, outs, and innings advance automatically. Use volume buttons for hands-free tracking.

4
Send the report

After the game, generate the summary and email it directly from the app to your player agent or league office.

I'm Justin — a Little League dad who built Simple Pitch Counter to make tracking pitch counts easier for coaches and parents. What started as a personal project for my kid's games turned into a full-featured iOS app used by teams across the country. I design, build, and maintain this app entirely on my own time — free, with no ads. If it's saved you time at the ballpark, consider buying me a coffee to help keep it going.
